Doctor Martin Cooper invented the modern Cell Phone.
He was born on 26th December 1928 in Chicago.
He invented the technology for the cell phone to work when he was working at Motorola. Dr. Martin Cooper is also known as the first person to make a call on a cell phone. His call took place in April of 1973 in New York.

Cooper grew up in Chicago and earned a degree in electrical engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He had four years in the navy going on destroyers and a submarine, he worked for a year at a telecommunications company before he made the phone. He now owns a telecommunications company with his wife.
